Related Pages
There's not that much out there right now, especially not in English. Here are
the best pages I've found so far:
- Sony's Official Web Site - It's in Japanese, but
it's got a lot of cool information anyway. In particular, check out the
3-D view --- very slick indeed.
- Matt's U101 Linux Site - Matt Miller has put together
a pretty complete web site for installing Linux on the U101. Interestingly, his
hardware chart provides more information
about the laptop's hardware than Sony's own
PDF spec. sheets.
He's also got some really neat pictures of
the laptop with his cats, DVD cases, and Coke cans.
- Inside VAIO - An interview with
Sony's engineers, these four pages provide an interesting look inside the laptop. This is in
Japanese, of course, but the photos are interesting even if you can't read it. You could always
try it in Babelfish,
but be prepared to read gibberish, since Babelfish only translates the words and idioms, not
the syntax.
- VAIO U101 fan page.
Don't know for sure who maintains this site. It's in Japanese, and
appears to be a fan page for the VAIO U101. The most interesting
part of the page is his links
section, which has links to lots and lots of Japanese articles about
the U101. Some of the information in those articles isn't available
anywhere else that I've been able to find.
- m-i-d-i's First Impressions
This is a Japanese site, but it's got some good information on it.
I don't know who the guy is that runs it, but it's got a lot of unique
and interesting pictures, including a screen-shot of the System
Properties dialog, completely expanded. It's worth a look, even if
the text looks like gibberish to you.
- James Byun's photos James
Byun took some photos of his U101 and posted them on-line. He hopes to
wrap a larger site around them soon. Nice pics, James!
